Inserting the “shank” (with or without the “trotter”) in the correct position will activate two mechanisms that tie the rope in a circular movement. These mechanisms ensure that the length of the string is adjusted to the required specifications so that the suspended hams are always perfectly aligned irrespective of their sizes.
